El Carmelo Residence

El Carmelo Residence provides a home for young girls between the ages of 18 and 30 who are in need of lodgings as they work, attend university, or pursue postgraduate study. It was founded by members of the Congregación de Hermanas Carmelitas Teresas de San José, a religious community located in Spain. Additionally, the residence engages in various acts of charity, especially focusing on assisting and educating underprivileged children, and is closely linked with the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe congregation that is also found on 14th Street.

In 2017, it was announced that the building would be torn down.
