Times Square Fish & Chips Takeout

At the end of a long alleyway, sandwiched between the St. James Theater and its mother restaurant, Angus McIndoe, is the hidden Times Square Fish + Chips Takeout kiosk. Lined with two or three small tables and chairs, the passageway is wide enough for only about two people to stand, but long enough to hold a line of customers.

The overwhelming demand from theatergoers for quick food options inspired restaurant owner Angus McIndoe to open this takeout outpost. Angus chose a handful of the most popular dishes on his restaurant’s menu – Scottish pie, buttermilk chicken, and fish and chips of course – and adapted them so they would be easier for eating on the go.

For ideas of how to serve these takeout dishes, Angus turned to memories of his childhood in Glasgow, where he would skip school to go to his favorite fish and chips kiosk. Fortunately, with Angus’ latest culinary creation, we don’t have to go all the way to Scotland for an authentic taste – Times Square Fish and Chips is just steps from the theater doors.
