Lincoln Center: Oasis of the Arts
For any performing artist from the New York area and around the world, Lincoln Center has significant meaning – Music students accepted to Julliard, singers at the Metropolitan Opera House, dancers with either the American Ballet Theater or New York City Ballet, actors debuting on any of the three stages (Vivian Beaumont Theater, Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, Claire Tow Theater), and, of course, Avery Fisher Hall, the home of the New York Philharmonic – all recognize that they have accomplished something almost insurmountable when they can call this magnificent square on the Upper West Side home. For the rest of us, we simply bask in its beauty that includes the cascading fountain, and appreciate how fortunate we are to have this world-renowned magical metropolitan center for the arts in our city.
