Prior to becoming a small neighborhood tapas spot, Ola was a laundry shop for many years until the owners decided to retire. Living in the building and being friendly with the landlord, the Inzerillo brothers were asked if they might like to utilize the space. Right next door they have their very successful family pizza place, Salvo’s, so it did not take Joe, Sal and Rosario more than a few minutes to decide that they wanted to open up another type of restaurant. “It fell in our laps,” Joe told me, “How could we say no?” They took over the space in the fall of 2015 and immediately began planning their health conscious Latin menu. They hired a chef from the Dominican Republic and together they began gathering recipes. They opened in 2016, hoping to attract a young crowd of people who appreciate good South American food and a warm, intimate atmosphere.
