Brooklyn Fare
7am-11pm; Everyday
Brooklyn Fare is a perfect example of why people need to walk the side streets and discover what surrounds either their apartment or their work place. So many people that we chatted with in the area had no idea that this incredible food store existed only a few steps away from them. Moe Issa first opened his grocery store and acclaimed Chef’s Table in Brooklyn, but in 2013, he ventured into Manhattan. Customers are welcome to browse the shelves that are filled with interesting products and the necessary staple items. The fresh produce is arranged artistically with every apple, grape, pepper and head of lettuce looking clean and crisp, as beautiful as a still life painting. There is also homemade pasta, fresh baked breads, an impressive selection of cheeses, ground coffee, and a butcher shop. Three years after opening Brooklyn Fare on 37th Street, Issa announced at the end of 2016 that he would finally be launching his long anticipated restaurant. Tucked away in the back of the grocery store, Chef Cesar Ramirez is delighting a small number of guests each evening (the space can seat a total of thirty-four people) with some of the three Michelin-starred recipes from the original Brooklyn restaurant.
