Golden Krust is a chain restaurant committed to popularizing Jamaican food in the states -- which really is not that tall of an order for this location considering how many people from the islands live in Manhattan. While West 14th may not be known for its Caribbean culture, we know that nothing has been sitting on the warming rack for too long, because every time we have eaten here the crust has been flaky and the meat practically molten. Plus, Golden Krust's central processing plant is in the Bronx, so it somehow feels slightly more “local” than some of the more nationally recognized chains taking over the city.
