Fiaschetteria
5:30pm-11pm Everyday
Fiaschetteria is “family, it’s traditional.” And, it reminds hostess Alessandria of her home in Tuscany. Why? That’s where the owner Emanuel Bugiani’s first location is. According to Alessandria, the decor is similar, and the menu is the same. The Manhattan Sideways team sampled an array of some of the delectable house-made pasta dishes, including the tagliatelle al tartufo nero (fit with shaved truffles before our very eyes).
Named after a vendor of a particular shape of bottle, the restaurant has numerous ties to its Italian roots – the chefs hand roll the pasta every day, they source many of their ingredients from Italy, and it’s closely run by the family. The wine list consists of a crate that the staff carries from table to table offering the bottles of options for that particular evening.
Speaking on behalf of the owner, Alessandria told us that he sincerely believes his food is the best there is, and he has a loyal dining audience to prove it. Alessandria was pleased to tell us that many of their customers, who often dine in either their East or West Village restaurant, will often make the effort to visit their Tuscany location while traveling in Italy.
