Tina Kim Gallery
T-Sa 10am-6pm
The Tina Kim Gallery, taking into consideration its Korean roots, works to showcase budding Korean artists in addition to already renowned international artists. The gallery itself winds and turns, creating a maze for the viewer. The artists being exhibited when we visited in the summer of 2015 (a collection taken from various Asian artists) took advantage of this feature, using each turn as a way to transition into a new medium – from wooden constructions suspended from the ceiling to footage playing from a monitor on the wall to delicately detailed pottery. The title of the exhibit was “Happy Together,” representing pieces that shared little cultural similarities standing together to form a coherent and unified exhibit.
