An organization that has a significant presence in Los Angeles and Jerusalem, The Simon Wiesenthal Center runs the Museum of Tolerance in New York. Although the fundamental backbone of the organization is the lessons learned from the Holocaust, both in historic terms and its still-felt implications, the Center’s primary objective is to protect human rights for the Jewish population, the world over. There are training programs offered to educators, law enforcers, government officials and school groups, where issues of diversity and tolerance are explored. The Center’s mission of learning from the horrors of the past, while shining a light on our own times, resonates strongly.
