Truly a New York staple, this French bistro has been around since 1973. Originally opened by Jean-Paul Picot, La Bonne Soupe is now run by his son Yves, who continues serving the traditional soupe a l’oignon, which has been a favorite of mine for over forty years. While their numerous soups are highlighted, the restaurant also offers other French classics including fondue, bouillabaisse, quiche and crepes.
