At Culture, An American Yogurt Company, everything is made from scratch. From the ingredients in the intricate artisanal toppings to the milk that produces the Greek-style yogurt, the husband and wife team of Jenny and Gino Ammirati do their best to support independent and local food sources. There are a wide variety of options to choose from, including six frozen and five non-frozen yogurt flavors. Everything is additive- and preservative-free and made in-house daily. The yogurt’s probiotic live culture upholds the company’s mantra of healthy and delicious. Jenny's experience as a pastry chef has not only inspired the creation of many frozen yogurt flavors, but also a selection of toppings that go far beyond the ordinary. Also baked and prepared on site, the toppings span from the breakfast staple of homemade granola to specialties and varying seasonal treats such as key lime pie and Vermont maple. We managed to sample both of these, but while we were visiting, Jenny was getting ready to introduce her fall flavors. There is no question that we will be back soon to taste the pumpkin cheese cake with pumpkin sauce and the big apple crisp that accompanies the apple flavored yogurt made with green apples. The toppings are first spread along the bottom and sides of the dish before the yogurt and final sweet topping layer, lending a lovely balance to the naturally tart yogurt - an absolutely delight.
