Jimmy’s Corner
Amidst the swanky hotels and restaurants and the theatrics of Times Square, it is somewhat surprising to find this gloriously nostalgic bar. At Jimmy’s Corner, time seems to have stood still; it is described by regulars as a holdover of what the neighborhood was in the 1970s.
A boxing trainer, James “Jimmy” Lee Glenn carried this theme into his dive bar — the walls of the long, narrow space are covered with boxing memorabilia. Whether one is a fighting enthusiast or not, stopping by and paying homage to this iconic man is an immensely rewarding experience. His son, Adam, is determined to carry on his father’s legacy.
