A Kid-Friendly Afternoon
Before you head out, get in touch with the Textile Art Center to see if you can set up a “Parent & Child Handmade Workshop,” during which you can weave a project together. But before heading over to that fun activity, pop into Bombalulu’s and browse through the colorful children’s clothes. If your child has shown any interest in photography, then take them to Lomography Gallery after your textile project, which is filled with a vibrant collection of cameras and photographs.
We’ve provided two suggestions for lunch: If your family likes chicken fingers, try Sticky’s Finger Joint. For kids with more sophisticated palates, Springbone Kitchen offers fun twists on comfort food originals, like spaghetti and meatballs made with shredded zucchini.
After your meal, head over to Washington Square Park, which will delight kids of all ages with a playground, the iconic fountain, and fascinating street musicians. Pay a visit to Clementine Consignment, which specializes in children’s clothing, and end the day with a healthy snack at Oatmeals, which offers classic sweet bowls as well as unexpected savory toppings.
